eggless chocolate cake

    All purpose flour- 1.5 cups
    Cocoa powder- 3 Tbsp
    Baking Soda- 1 tsp
    Salt- 1 Pinch
    Sugar- 1 Cup
    Oil- 1/4 Cup
    Water- 1 cup
    Vanilla essence- 1/2 tbsp
    White vinegar or Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
    Instant coffee powder- 1/4 to ½ tsp (optional)


      1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line baking pan ( 9″ x 9″ ) with parchment paper, or grease it with oil and lightly dust with flour (*a teaspoon-ish of cocoa powder).
      2. Whisk together all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl. Keep aside.
      3. In a mixing bowl, combine together sugar, oil, water, vanilla essence, white vinegar and instant coffee powder (if using) until sugar is completely dissolved.
      4. Add this to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
      5. Pour the batter into the prepared tray and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the cake comes out clean.
      6. Allow it to cool completely and cut into squares.
